COMPLETE PROGRAM SECTION (WOODWIND)
Participants will perform works from different periods demonstrating a variety of musical styles. One movement of a sonata or concerto constitutes one piece and such selections are appropriate as are shorter pieces.
Performers in Class 71 will play two (2) pieces, one each from two of the five periods of music listed below. Both required periods must be performed for adjudication.
Performers in Classes 72, 73, and 74 will play three (3) pieces, one each from three of the five periods of music listed below. All three required periods must be performed for adjudication.
- Baroque
- Classical
- Romantic
- Impressionist
- 20th Century/Contemporary
To verify the correct period classification of a composer, check the Composer Classification List , which is available online. If the composer does not appear on the Composer Classification List, contact a member of the Music Advisory Panel well in advance of the registration deadline. Period classifications for pieces, which are already in our database are predetermined, and cannot be changed.
